'ACADEMY LIVE' TOUR

SO.......

I'm going on a 4 night tour of the 02 Academy venues in a few weeks!

I'll be visiting Newcastle, Liverpool, Birmingham and London.

Here are the dates:

28th Sept - Newcastle 02 Academy

29th Sept - Liverpool 02 Academy

30th Sept - Birmingham 02 Academy

1st Oct - London (Islington) 02 Academy

If you're able to make it to one of the nights of the tour, your support will be MASSIVELY appreciated.

The Liverpool night of the tour will be the most important night for me because I'll be the headline act (the tour consists of 4 acts who will each headline the night in their hometown!). Even though it's a Tuesday night and therefore a work/school night I really hope you will come to the show and have a great night!!!

We have cheap advance tickets for the Liverpool show available now - just £5. All you need to do is email info@stephenlangstaff.co.uk and state how many tickets you want (you will receive a confirmation email and then info about payment!).

ALSO - If you have friends or relatives in Newcastle, Birmingham and London PLEASE let them know and see if they can come down to the gig when I'm in their town! Word of mouth is really powerful and it'd be a huge help to have friends of friends coming to support me in a new city!!!

Tickets for the Newcastle, Birmingham and London nights can be bought at the following links

Getting asked to do this tour is great for me and a real opportunity to spread the word about my music. I want to make every night count!!

Thanks a lot and speak to you soon!

Poem (For my best friend's cat)

In Memory of little 'Buffy'

Tiny tiger

Gold in your bones

Crying every time I pick you up

Black paws

A daughter's presence

Crying every time I pick you up

Ancient markings

10 months old

Crying every time I pick you up

Tiny bites

Tiny nose

Crying every time I pick you

Laughing at your Kangaroo legs

Crying every time I pick you up

Climbing fences

Catching insects

Crying ever time I pick you up

Little eyes

Young and loving

Crying every time I pick you up

Unseen danger

Unforgiving

Crying every time I pick you up

Finding you

Without your spirit

Crying every time I pick you up

Tiny tiger

Gold in your bones

Crying every time I pick you up

Black paws

A daughter's absence

Crying every time I pick you up

Warmth and sadness

Friends forever

Crying ever time I pick you up

I keep my memories together

Smiling every time I pick you up

What's On The Horizon?

On the horizon is.... a guest spot at Liverpool's Studio 2 bar which I've been asked to do tomorrow night. It's a converted Recording studio from the famous Parr St Studios and a cool place to be. I think I'll be onstage from 9:30pm and for a long time with Steve (drums) and Ged (Piano) so I can't wait to do that. Being onstage seems like marathon running to me sometimes (not that I've ever ran a marathon!), where the longer you go the more relaxed and focused you get!

Next will be my debut appearance at The Greenbelt Festival in Cheltenham. I didn't realise that the festival has been going for decades. Festival audiences are amazing - constantly up for good music and a good time! I'll be on at 6pm on the Underground Stage. The drive to a festival is always a laugh too - I like to be out there!

After that will be appearances at Liverpool's Bank Holiday Weekend Matthew St Festival. I'm due to appear acoustically at the new and uber-cool music venue Badformat on the Sunday (30th Aug) and also put in an appearance at the Zanzibar on the Monday (31st Aug). It's amazing how the festival has grown. Fingers crossed the sun comes out to play!

After that will be the Academy Live Tour at the end of September - I'll write a separate blog entry about that because I'm VERY VERY excited about it!!!!

See you soon

On The Way Home From London...

Just thought I'd post a quick blog while I wait to set off back home to Liverpool after a fantastic gig in London last night. I did an acoustic gig at the famous 'Halfmoon' venue in Putney. I think it was one of the best solo performances I've ever done to date. I've played there a few times and the unplugged night there is special. You can always hear a pin drop while every act is on. There are vids in the VIDEO section of the site from when I played there earlier this year - you'll see what I mean!

There's something about playing to a room full of people intently listening and sat at tables with candles that spurs you and brings out the Romantic in you!! It's so easy to open up and I love these gigs because it feels like you get so close to the audience you might as well be sitting in someone living room and playing at a party of friends.

Music is a powerful force for uniting people and that become very clear on nights like last night. I'm privileged to be the one delivering the music.

See you all soon!
